Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister for humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, flagged off the distribution of modified home grown school feeding programme by distributing food packages to households in Kuje, a suburb of Abuja.
The minister said a total of 3,512 households in ten locations in the Kuje area council benefitted from the first set of distribution.
Recall that, 34 states are currently registered under the homegrown school feeding programme.
She said all the states registered under the programme will benefit from the modified programme after which Lagos and Ogun states will be next.
