Nigeria's Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has disclosed the drug used to treat COVID-19 patients in Nigeria.
Ehanire said Remdesivir is being used to treat patients with the virus while addressing members of the House of Representatives today Tuesday May 5.
“We have been using that (Remdesivir); we have tried that in Lagos too. So, we have tried the antiretroviral drug to see what effect it has” he said
Recall that the US had agree to the use of Remdesivir, for treatment of the disease and the US National Institute of Health had said the drug proved effective against the new coronavirus disease..
