Nurses and midwives demand a better working atmosphere

More than a thousand nurses and midwives have been exposed to coronavirus disease in Nigeria, some have tested positive and at least six death has been recorded.

Nurses and Midwives Association is now seeking good working atmosphere as frontline health workers in the fight against covid-19.

Lara Afolayan stated this at the end of commemorating the nurses’ week in Abuja, that the Nigerian nurses and midwives are particularly concerned about the number of members already infected or who have died from the coronavirus disease while in the line of duty.

The nurses are concerned about inadequacy of personal protective equipment for healthcare providers as well as life insurance policies, payment of salary arrears  and finding a lasting solution to the coronavirus infection.
